Tim Marks: Developing the Will to Win
Posted by Orrin Woodward on January 15, 2013
Tim Marks has overcome so much in his life to become the winner he is and a co-founder of the LIFE business. From dyslexia, divorce, and dream-killing disappointments, Tim forged a character of gold and has become a leader of leaders. Many others, with fewer struggles, have used their challenges as reasons not to win. Tim, on the other hand, used his challenges as resistance to strengthen his will. In truth, this is what all winners do, and their example can help anyone looking to achieve. Anyone can apply the principles of Tim’s life and win. Nonetheless, despite the examples around them, most people choose to make excuses rather than reasons. The question is: Which is true for your life? Do you make reasons to learn and earn, or do you make excuses for shame and blame? Each person owns his choice, but he must remember that he also owns the results. Here is Tim’s video.
Sincerely,

I love how Tim teaches and tells stories. Tim has become an expert in Leadership because he was willing to take control of his life and decide to get better daily. Tim’s example is so inspiring to many on their leadership journey. Thanks for sharing this Orrin.

Thank you Tim for leading by example and showing the rest of us what mental toughness is and that anyone acan develop it!

Great post. Tim’s story is so amazing and it’s great that he has been able to put in into a book for others to read and gain inspiration from. Thanks for being an example for anyone who is struggling to find the will to win.

There are so many people that don’t think they can break the patterns that their families have followed over the years. LIFE offers important information that can break the destructive cycles and negative attitudes. I am glad that we can have an impact on our grandchildren and teach them how important it is to have a positive attitude and believe you can accomplish anything!
WE are crazy enough to believe we can change the world one family at a time!

Thx for the great post Orrin!!! I was amazed to learn the principle of how big a role our thoughts or thinking have in determining our actions, which create our habits, which creates our results. Tim and all of the Team leadership are shining examples of mastering our thinking process to take control of our future! God Bless, Bob

It is all about making a decision to change. What a tough decision when you’re in the middle of emotions that come along with those decisions. Thank you for the constant reminder that excellence and the will to win is a choice, not something that some of us have and some of us don’t.

Tim is such a master at showing what can be done when there is a will, a goal, a plan, and a scoreboard to honestly grade progress. Thanks Tim for sharing so openly with all of us!

Orrin,
The will power….we all think we have it until someone comes along to challenge that and we find that the power is not as strong as we thought. The more i get determined to do this the more I get challenged. My will is very strong…it has to be to overcome some bad things. Just so true as we know we need the power of the will!!. Thank you again for this post

Thanks Orrin for your leadership with LIFE. I appreciate your being “hungry, honeable and honorable”. You truly exhibit a great example for us to follow.
One of the true fruits of leadership is the duplication and bringing along of other highly skilled leaders. You and Laurie have done that with Tim, Chris, the rest of the Policy Council members, their wives and a host of other men and women moving along in their leadership journey.
Thanks Tim for your leadership with Team VIP, Phalanx.
