HBRN’s Leadership Factory: Special Guest Curtis Spolar

Orrin Woodward: HBRN Leadership Factory

Orrin Woodward: HBRN Leadership Factory

Tony Cannuli and I had the special treat of having Curtis Spolar on the HBRN Leadership Factory. Curtis and Debbie Spolar have built one of the largest organizations within the LIFE Business community and are leading the charge on the West Coast. Curtis’s character and word are unquestioned by me as he has earned that level of trust by consistently doing what he says he is going to do. The subject discussed was mentoring and so many nuggets were shared by Curtis that the reader will need a notepad to capture them all. Indeed, Curtis is not only a great mentor, but also great to mentor as he is so hungry to grow and change. Interestingly, he is one of the few leaders I know who went from leader, to manager, and then back to leader again. It takes a huge dream and courage to do what Curtis did, but he did it! In fact, Curtis’s business has nearly tripled since we started mentoring together several years back. Get ready to be challenged as we discuss the difference between managing and leading in building a huge community of customers and members. Here is the video.

Sincerely,

Orrin Woodward

  4. What an awesome hangout discussion today with Orrin and Guest Curtis and of course Tony! This one stopped me dead in my tracks and gave me some self criticism and an honest view of where I am as a person with my relationships with people and also showed me where I have been failing to force myself to be uncomfortable and move on again, and Again and AGAIN….
Thanks So much for the invaluable insights from the Mentoring perspective in business as well as relationships.

The biggest point I got from this interview was about Capacity.
Orrin shared that “you should never give more truth than the student is willing to recieve. It is not loving to pour more truth into someone than they are capable of learning. Just because you recognize truth in someone does not mean you go and tell them that. It is not loving to tell the truth to someone that is not ready to hear it.”
That is so important! Make deposits first.
    Thank you Curtis and Orrin!!

Orrin, thanks so much for putting everything in plain sight for people from every walk of life to have access to this. Curtis & Debbie will always have a special place in our hearts because when we got started in this industry, we were excited, yet, in the back of our minds, still had those thoughts that we were probably just getting started in one of those “networking deals”. In other words, we figured, “let’s try this and see where it goes”. Not long after we started the learning journey, Curtis & Debbie came in to our area to do a LIVE event. They were veterans of this industry, but fairly new to the business program that Erika & I had gotten started in with you. It didn’t take long to realize that what we had our hands on with this idea of a leadership based, community development program, was so unique, that it had NEVER been done before. It was a very life changing moment in time for us because we realized that if a couple like this, who achieved multi-success in the networking field already, saw our program as being the future of this industry, we had all doubt removed from our minds about how fortunate we were to be where we were at. Infact, we truly felt like a one in a million type thing because we understood how many business plans in this industry there are out there, yet, by some thin thread, we chose this!
My point is, I believe the Spolars were put at that place & time for a reason, and we are deeply grateful for that. It’s amazing to think how our life has been so impacted by the LIFE business and even pondering the thought that there might have been a point in time, long ago that we would just give this thing a try! I’ve heard countless leaders say, that you can never underestimate the impact you may have on someone else’s life. The Spolars are a walking, talking example of that! Thank you Curtis and Debbie for being the “angels on our shoulders” that convinced us to stick around and be a part of something as monumental and historical as L.I.F.E.!

UNBELIEVABLE! The passion that Orrin exuded from 45 minutes to 52 minutes & 20 seconds was quite possibly one of the most inspirational talks that I have heard. Seeing Tony & Curtis’s eyes widen, was EPIC!

It is the PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE that sets our leaders apart from the herd.
