From Corporate America to Compensated Communities

Posted by Orrin Woodward on November 6, 2013

Success is knowing what one is called to do and doing it with all one’s heart. The corporate ladder limited my ability to climb to the mountaintop through factors outside of my control. The only limits in Compensated Communities, on the other hand, are set by one’s ย thinking. Laurie and I were climbers and all we needed was a nudge in the direction of the proper ladder . The rest, as they say, is history.

Entrepreneurs have a tough time conforming to the credentialist cultures create in corporate America; however, they love the creative destruction process of developing something new. Indeed, LIFE Leadership is on the cutting edge of leadership, personal development, and life success. Accordingly, we have a goal to reach millions of people with life-changing information in our quest to have fun, make money, and make a difference.

Right on, I didn’t find the video until I clicked on “Comment”. I,m making $, but more importantly, I’m helping families, in this compensated community that brings world class information for everyone.

Great talk Orrin. I saw my father forced off his ladder after 25years in his industry. Years ago when he turned 55yo, his company gave him his pink slip. Prior to that day, for years we encouraged him to change jobs, or “climb down the ladder” and get on another one. He declined because the familiarity with the ladder he spent so many years climbing. However, when he was forced to change ladders, we witnessed a transformation in his life. My father exploded with new confidence and curiosity, pursuing areas he only dreamed of before. As my dad gets ready to retire around 75, I can only speculate what would his life have been if he stayed on his old ladder. I thank God the my father was forced onto a new ladder of faith that resulted in professional and personal success only dreamed of before.

Thank you Orrin for your heart, visioneering and ability to communicate Truth. So often you challenge those of us who listen to not be content with where we are and to move forward with intentionality.

The “ladder” of LIFE and Compensated Communities is one that can provide great impact in our lives and those whom we are fortunate enough to come into contact with. There are already many intangible benefits and successes that cannot be measured financially. People’s lives are being changed.

Thanks to you, Laurie and the rest of LIFE leadership for having the vision, hunger and courage to create this environment that will impact our culture.

My husband came to his first major this October. This talk was huge to him and his thinking! I want to say we have just started our second team this week because of you and reaching my husband with that exact talk. We have both reached a rung on the wrong ladder and there is nowhere else for us to go. We are excited to start this new journey now together and will be reaching to the beautiful mountain tops! We have many dreams!

That talk was perfectly timed. That was exactly the encouragement I needed at exactly the right time.

Thank you Orrin for finding and showing us the “RIGHT LADDER” ON TO THE TOP.

I just want to say I am blessed to be in Life Leadership! I see how this business has changed my life and the lives of my best friends in business with me. I too, climbed the wrong ladder many different times.I know now that By having belief, courage and determination on the Life ladder, and also by helping those that matter to me, (my family and community) I have no doubt I will succeed. So many people chase their careers not their dreams. I love the entrepreneurial opportunity Life Leadership has created in my life! Thank you Orrin and all the PC for following your dream to 1 million. I also want to thank Matt Mielke for having belief in me. I know we will be #1! Fired up!

Orrin, your ladder comparison is probably the BEST explanation I have ever seen to explain why we should examine the path we are on and whether it is taking us to where we want to go!

With over 14 years of education beyond high school, I had bought into the credentialist way of thinking that more degrees, certificates, and licenses were my ticket to my goals and dreams. Sadly, like you point out, many people may encourage you to be on the short ladder, and most people were climbing it with me… but when I found a ladder that promised me the TOP of the mountain for less than $100.00?!? It was very humbling to have to climb down off my EXPENSIVE ladder(expensive in time, MONEY, and nearly a lifetime of effort) to get on the ladder that WOULD take me to my goals and dreams (the TOP of the mountain).

YOU and LIFE Leadership have ALWAYS delivered on what you said! THANK YOU!!!

  13. This is one of the greatest Life Leadership talks yet! Thanks for serving by example when you could be on some beach somewhere! Praise God for you and Laurie’s dedication, commitment, and vision!

Its is an enlightening day when you realize your on the wrong success ladder. More importantly I found not only was I on the wrong ladder, but the entire wall beneath that wrong ladder was crumbling too! Thanks to LIFE Founders for a change to rewrite our story!

Thanks for doing such an inspiring job sharing Orrin’s analogy last night, Keith! Ironically, I watched Orrin’s video at work today (the WRONG ladder) as I endured the tyranny of one of the worst bosses I’ve ever had. Time to tap into the courage I know I’ve got and RUN to the correct ladder … ๐Ÿ™‚

Ladder masters! I love it. If the climb is the thrill, then LIFE is the greatest thrill for climbers there has ever been. I love this talk, Orrin….Thank you for revealing the mountain and taking it for patriots, parents, and people of purpose! There is a million of us coming up!!

Within your ladder analogy, I find your statement “Democracy is not truth” so compelling. People don’t like hearing the truth. I appreciate the statement within Matt Mielke’s comment about his father staying where he was because of familiarity with his ladder where it was at the time. Familiarity is comfortable easy and safe. Truth is uncomfortable, difficult and uncertain. Time to get uncomfortable!

For years I couldn’t understand why I was so angry doing what everyone was telling me was the ladder of success with a large company – seeing other people at that company give up 80, 90 and sometimes 100 hours a week to the betterment of that company – but THEY HAD NO LIFE. They didn’t know their kids, and they missed all the important family get togethers… and if I was going to take another step up that ladder, it was only going to get worse.
It wasn’t until I was introduced to LIFE, that I even understood that another ladder was even available. Thank you for building the ladder with all of the other LIFE Coaches and PC members so that I can really have a LIFE!!

Thank for another incredible analogy, Orrin, and for your passion. And with his typical amazing attitude of encouragement, Keith Sieracki did a “rock star” job of sharing it last night. The Pastor at Keith’s church shared the following quote last Sunday that seemed to come straight from the CORRECT information LIFE is sharing …. “What you believe doesn’t change the truth!” Have a fired up weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚
