Beyond Relationship Marketing: Friendship Branding

Posted by Orrin Woodward on September 26, 2014

Here is a segment of a LIFE Leadership talk I gave in Texas on the importance of business owners moving beyond relationship marketing and into friendship branding. A company can serve a customer, but the best service is when friends serve friends. Thus, the reason why every business ought to move from treating customers as customers and start treating them as you would a friend.

In a sense, they are your business’s best friend and should be teated accordingly. Can you give an example where a business person treated you beyond just a customer and treated you as a friend?

Sincerely,

Orrin Woodward

    Hi Orrin!

When we get the world to adapt or act vs think we will change the world! Then we can get them to treat each other as family as my business partners all tend to come!

    God Bless

I need to hear this talk several more times to get the richness and wisdom. Thanks for coming back to houston (or Huntsville at least) thank you for coming “back into the subway” and looking for Josh Bells! You’re truly a great example of the kind of leader we all need to be; Humble, Honable and Hungry. Hurry back to Texas!

A few years back when I walked into a feed store in Clifton Park, NY the first time they welcomed me very warmly like we were brothers. It was very refreshing and mind blowingly nice. Of course, we shopped there alot

This is a refreshing viewpoint! Life -leadership is changing business. Many people will study what the leaders have done and the life changing information; and many lives will be blessed because of the wisdom that they have gained.

Orrin, thanks for sharing. People do business with people they know, like and trust. As a choleric by nature coming into this industry, mastering the art of true friendship was like learning a new language. Fortunately LIFE Leadership provides world-class information on all 8 F’s, including the art of friendship. Thank you for another excellent video!

    Hi Orrin,
I remember hearing this talk on cD about how a certain car sales men used this principal & got tremendous results. Stopping to think about this principal, it only makes sense. I mean who likes being pestered about anything from anyone let alone a friend. A couple weeks back I visited my aunt and uncle in the Sacramento area. It was my little cousin’s birthday and my uncle needed to replace the card he originally bought. We were at a popular chain of stores up there called “Raleys”. He swapped the birthday card only to find, there were no more of the original one that he wanted to replace. The new one he picked was $1 more. He let the manager know this and she said: “Go on ahead and take it.” We thanked her profusely then left. I will always remember this lady now because of that one act, she treated us like friends.

    HI Orrin,

I was fortunate enough to be in Huntsville and hear this talk live, and the whole time I couldn’t help but think how spot on you were with your information! These are principles we use in our construction business, and they never fail to result in a customer referral. Thank you again for your incredible leadership!
