Entrepreneurial Prime Movers: Part 2

Posted by Orrin Woodward on March 4, 2015

Most of the world is good at seeing what is, but leaders are good at seeing what could be. More pointedly, leaders must have the character and courage to make what could be a reality. How do they do this? By helping others see what they see and then building trust until the people buy into what they see. Leadership is founded upon character and courage, built upon trust and respect, and completed upon actions and rewards.  2015 is the year to lead and become the prime mover for your community.

Sincerely,

Orrin Woodward – Chairman of the Board LIFE Leadership

Great examples of why courageous entrepreneurs should move forward in their beliefs toward the future vision they see, and not be put off by the historians’ opinions! I received this talk on cd and have heard it multiple times. Great teaching! 🙂

    Thank you, Orrin,
You have revealed to me where I have my greatest problem I believe. It is belief. I must practice seeing the future. One of the best examples of visualization that I have heard is Tim Marks. He shows how to incorporate all the senses in your vision.
    Thanks,
    Jim Wilson

Hi Orrin! Great post. I like all the historical examples that really prove your point that experts are great at retelling history but not at seeing what could be in the future. It reminds me of Walt Disney’s wife saying that Walt saw the theme parks before his death because it was his dream and Vision that allowed it to be. He believed it and it was created. The 95% have to see it to believe it.

As Andy Stanley defines “vision” in “Visioneering”; “vision is a mental picture of what could be, fueled by a conviction that it should be.” Part of our role of leaders, at home, in LIFE, at church, etc. is to see farther than where we currently are and then being able to communicate that to those we lead, and that we are committed to achieving the goal. I am amazed with the vision and commitment of our LIFE Leadership company leaders.

Your statement, “Leadership is founded upon character and courage, built upon trust and respect, and completed upon actions and rewards”, describes a cycle that allows for the achievement of the vision cast.

Thank you for your commitment to God, your family and to this mission of LIFE.
