Larry & Stacey Allswede: Testimonies over Titles

The LIFE business continues to change lives and impact communities across America. What is so special about LIFE is that whether someone makes hundreds of thousands of dollars from the LIFE Business Compensation Plan or makes just a few bucks, it still changes lives for the better. Only a materialistic person would define success in just dollars. What about better relationships between spouses or between parents and their children? What about improved mobility at one’s profession due to increased leadership and people skills?

Simply stated, I believe the LIFE business is the best educational system for success in the marketplace at less than 1/10th of the cost of conventional educational systems. In Oliver DeMille’s and my new book LeaderShift, to be released in April by Business Plus, we teach the difference between credentialists and creators. Credentialists focus on titles while creators focus on leadership. Leaders are leaders because people trust them and follow them, not because of titles. In other words, testimonies trump titles every time! It was in 1994, when I quit my MBA from the University of Michigan, that I made my personal decision to stop focusing on titles and build a life of testimony. This fork in the road was highly significant for Laurie’s and my future.

In the same way, Larry Allswede and his wonderful wife Stacey reached a fork in the road. Larry had started working at the Team office, but quickly realized he was better suited in the field as an entrepreneur. Today, the Allswedes are achieving success in all 8F’s of LIFE (Faith, Family, Finance, Fitness, Freedom, Fun, Friends, and Following) and living as creators, not credentialists. Their story is one of many I receive. In fact, not a week goes by without receiving several emails like this confirming the huge impact LIFE is having upon lives. As you might already know, I have been a part of Holger and Lindsey Spiewak’s team since 2006. I went to my first seminar in the fall of 2005 to see Jim and Dolores Martin and ever since then I was hooked! I wasn’t quite sure about the business, but I was certain that I wanted to be associated with Holger and that group of people! There since began my leadership journey! Since then, I can remember being completely addicted to the Audio CD’s mainly because I was so angry for never being taught ANY of the principles I was learning!

Let’s fast forward 5 1/2 years later. In the Spring of 2011, I caught wind of a job opening for a virtual school. I applied. The problem? The applicants were required to have a MINIMUM of a BS Degree, “Preferred” to have a Masters Degree, year of Student teaching, a year of community service, and a whole laundry list of other qualifications that I did NOT have. I only have SOME college, but I did not finish. I do not even have an associates degree, let alone a MASTERS degree. The only thing that I had off their requirement list were the objective things like “Team work…commitment…energetic (I’m part sanguine, of COURSE I’m energetic!)” etc. Needless to say, my resume was looking pretty unimpressive…until I added “Other Education” where I entered “Liber/Leadership Education – 10,000 Hours” (When adding up all the Audios over a 5 1/2 year period, all the Opens, Seminars, Majors, Mentor sessions with Holger Spiewak and Bill Lewis, Those hours put my right around 10,000. Not to mention roughly 100 personal development books)

Somehow I landed an interview. In the interview, there were 2 people and myself; the president of the company, and a consultant who was brought in to help the president hire in the right people) The consultant (Kim) took one look at my resume with a confused look and asked “What is a ‘Liber’ Education?” To which I replied “That is a great question!! Liber really means “tree bark” because it is what the ancients used to write on tablets when engaging in contract, communicating, etc. But it is also the root word for LIBERty and LIBERary…which those two words were closely connected in history. Those who were free knew HOW to think for themselves and could engage in contract. It’s a self directed, leadership education that teaches one how to think.” (Basically, I took the definition almost directly from Oliver DeMille’s 4 Lost American Ideals CD in the Freedom Pack) But their mouth’s about hit the table! Kim quickly said “Well, 10,000 hours of leadership training…that’s a lot of training… What was it all for?” To which I replied “well, I never felt like I fit within the boundaries of a formal education setting, where the methodology is curriculum and professors and experts. My heart sang when I was working in the classics with mentors who had a life that I aspired to have. So I chose the route to have a self directed leadership education, rather than a formal education.”

There were a whole host of other questions that were asked, and I don’t really remember what else I said, but I had a REALLY good feeling that they were impressed! After the interview, I was told that I would receive a phone call within a couple weeks to know if I got the job or not. By 8:30am the NEXT morning I got a call : “Good Morning, Larry! We are excited to call you and offer you a position at Clintondale Virtual School!” WOW!!!

Here’s the kicker… There were 12 (TWELVE) other applicants who interviewed. They ALL had Bachelors degrees, and 6 (SIX) of them had Masters Degrees!!! I was the ONLY ONE who did NOT have a degree, but rather had a leadership education from the  LIFE/Team community and I’m the one who got the job making a mid-range teachers salary. WOW!

LIFE is not only good to help people live the lives that they have always wanted, but it is also the best resume builder that I have seen so far! Talk about reinventing yourself and standing out from the crowd at the same time!

Since then, Kim and eventually her husband Ron have taken me under their wing here at the company with the virtual school and has helped mentor me to be excellent on the job. By this fall, 2013, I will have brought in over 1 million plus dollars of revenue to the company since starting with the company in March 2011.

LIFE Business: One-Time Cash Awards (OTCAs)

The LIFE business has a goal to be the best entrepreneurial start-up company for budding entrepreneurs. By providing life-changing information in the 8Fs and the top-paying LIFE Business Compensation Plan, we are well on our way. For 2013, LIFE has announced that the One-Time Cash Awards (OTCAs) have been increased at nearly every level. Because LIFE flows so much of the profits back to the field Members, our goal is, as we grow, to increase the bonuses offered to Members for customers and communities. What other company does that? Here are the details.

Below are the ranks and respective OTCAs for 2013:

Leader 6

receives $3,000. (As an aside, if a Member is Trip Tracking, he will have received a free vacation earlier as well.)

This means you have to qualify as a Leader for six months out of the year with at least three consecutive months.

There are two ways you can qualify as a Leader:

1. Have a total of 15,000 PV or more with no downline Members with 15,000 PV or

2. If you do have a downline Member with 15,000 PV in your first Team, you must have 6,000 PV outside of your first Team, which includes all outside Teams, personal volume, and customer volume.

Leader 12

receives $12,000 (up from $8,000 last year). (Trip Tracking Leader 12’s receive another free vacation)

This means you have to start qualifying in January, so you can qualify for all twelve months of the year.

Coordinator 6

receives $6,000 (up from $4,000 last year).

Coordinator 12

receives $15,000 (up from $10,000 last year).

Sr. Coordinator 6

receives $15,000 (up from $10,000 last year).

Sr. Coordinator 12

receives $25,000.

Life Coach 6

receives $50,000 (up from $30,000 last year).

Life Coach 12

receives $100,000 (up from $80,000 last year).

Executive Life Coach 6

receives $100,000 (up from $50,000 last year).

Executive Life Coach 12

receives $150,000 (up from $125,000 last year).

Double Life Coach 6

receives $150,000 (up from $75,000 last year).

Double Life Coach 12

receives $200,000.

Triple Life Coach 6

receives $200,000 (up from $100,000 last year).

Triple Life Coach 12

receives $250,000.

LIFE Leadership Conventions

It’s a beautiful Saturday morning and I just finished watching a superb video on the impact of the LIFE Business Leadership Conventions. Rob Hallstrand and his LIFE staff are knocking the ball out of the park on the recent videos. Indeed, the LIFE Convention video captures how a person can change from the inside out. In fact, it’s the only way true lasting change occurs. When a person thinks differently, he begins to act differently, thus producing different results in his life. Twenty years ago, I made one of the best decisions of my life by starting a personal growth journey.  Just like everyone else, I changed my internal thinking which led to external changes. For twenty consecutive years, I have read 10-15 books per month. But, I didn’t just read them, I applied them within the leadership communities. Over time, this reading and daily application led to amazing changes in who I am and what I see for the future. LIFE Business Leadership Seminars

On Saturday, the LIFE business conducted its December leadership seminars. Numbers are up in December, and people are gearing up for the January Leadership Conventions. I had the honor of being in St. Louis in a packed house (standing room only in fact) and had the opportunity to hear Raymond and Tina Abernathy bring down the house! What powerful speakers for a couple that isn’t even RT level yet. I say yet because they will certainly zoom past this goal in the coming months. Posture, belief, and enthusiasm shined in every sentence spoken by this amazing couple. Impressively, St. Louis had a brand new 30-day Double Power Player. That is smoking fast new growth! In addition, there were new Turbo 25s and Turbo 10s. Many new LIFE pin levels were hit by participants as well, so a good day was had by all.

What seminar did you attend on Saturday? Who were the speakers? What were some key nuggets you took away from the experience? Indeed, that is the correct word. LIFE Seminars aren’t attended as much as they are experienced! I look forward to hearing from you.

LIFE Leadership: First Year Results

Just over a year ago this week, the LIFE Leadership launched in North America. Amid much fanfare, several best-selling authors and top leaders partnered together in the community building business with a goal to end the decline of North American morale and productivity. When opportunity and preparedness meet, success must happen. The LIFE founders were prepared and, thanks to God’s grace, the opportunity presented itself to do something in the leadership field that had never been done before. With the  LIFE founders (pictured above), the LIFE Leadership exceeded even my highest expectations for the first year.

For instance:

1. LIFE Leadership surpassed 100% increase in subscriptions of the LIFE and LLR Series in under one year of business.
2. LIFE Leadership launched the Mental Fitness Challenge and sold thousands of 90-day challenges throughout North America.
3. LIFE Leadership paid out over $1,800,000 in end-of-year bonuses and free trips its first year.
4. The LIFE business paid out over 70% bonuses on its product volume points in its first year in business.
5. Rob Hallstrand, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Team and President of LIFE Leadership, coordinated operations for both companies, and combined sales blew past $50,000,000 (with LIFE leading the charge) from the Flint, Michigan based office. Chris Brady and I have had many great years since forming our first leadership training company in 1999, but nothing feels as good as having the best sales and profits ever this past fiscal year.
6. Team training produced its best operating margins ever (of which 100% of profits flow back to field trainers), as Mr. Hallstrand continued his dramatic turnaround of Team operations. In fact, employee cost-per-profit-dollar has decreased over six times in his three years as COO, leading to increased bonuses for field trainers and office staff—a truly stunning performance.
7. Customers composed nearly 20% of total LIFE Leadership subscriptions in its first year. Considering new members have six months to learn how to develop customers, this number will only grow as members complete training. What other community building business hits 20% customer subscriptions in its first year?
8. The LIFE business launched the Edge Series for youth and has added thousands of satisfied families in LIFE’s first year.

The LIFE founders have several new products in the works to take the LIFE business to the next level, so get ready! LIFE Business Record Growth

The LIFE business is closing in on its one-year anniversary (Founded: 11-1-2011), and the LIFE community has plenty to celebrate. Indeed, with product subscriptions nearly doubling since its founding, LIFE is one of the fastest growing community-building businesses in the world. Growth of this magnitude is directly related to customer satisfaction.

I am thankful, but not shocked by these results since the LIFE founders have produced a business model where people can get started for less than fifty dollars. More impressively, a new person can attend the first month of opens and community groups free of charge. Why would a company give away world-class content for no charge? Simply stated, because we know that when the customers experience the leadership culture, servant attitude, and top-notch content for themselves, they will be the best word-of-mouth marketers to their friends.

With a total training cost of under fifty dollars a month, FREE trips for people who hit 6,000 points of business in two legs (hundreds have qualified for free trips already), and the Mental Fitness Challenge receiving rave reviews, I see only faster growth in our future. Back-to-back months of double-digit growth is amazing in any field, but I truly believe it will become the norm for LIFE as more and more people realize the value being offered to them. Remarkably for a first-year company, with a good finish in October, this fiscal year will be the best growth year in my twenty years of community building! This is a testament to the life/leadership principles shared that are making a difference in people’s lives. Moreover, with tens of thousands of satisfied customers and members, I believe the rate of growth will increase as the tipping point is upon us.

Power-Player Promotions

It’s summer time in Michigan! Enjoying our properties in both Florida and Michigan, Laurie and I find it difficult to determine which we like better. In truth, when I am in Michigan, I don’t want to leave; however, when I am in Florida in the wintertime, I am glad I did. 🙂

My goal for this summer is to shake hands with every Power-Player on the team. Since Power Player is the most effective way to build communities for the long haul, I am running mainly power player promotions this summer. Of course, some of the groups are double Power Players and above because of the size, but the objective is the same – to keep the main thing the main thing.

The Team is on its way to 1 million people through the LIFE Business because we keep Power-Player the main thing. The Mental Fitness Challenge, LIFE & LLR subscriptions, and the EDGE series are all amazing, but they are not the main thing. Only Power-Player ensures the community grows through depth which leads to numbers and then volume. LIFE has nearly 9,000 customers (not including the tens of thousands of members) since November 1, 2011, mainly because anyone out starting conversations about LIFE and the MFC will stumble across customers. Even so, the number one point of focus for anyone desiring a long-term business plan for success is Power-Player.

This is going to be a wonderful summer and I hope you are planning on going Power-Player and introducing yourself at one of the summer time promotions. The Team has one play that scores a touchdown every time we call it: Hut 1, Hut 2, Power-Player!

LIFE Business: Keeping Score

I flew back to Michigan on Monday to attend several days of PC meetings with the LIFE Founders and enjoyed myself immensely. First of all, because the PC is such a fun-loving group that we bounce numerous ideas off of each other, but end up laughing at the eventual humorous way someone will see the idea. It’s kind of hard to explain, but when you are a PC, you will understand what I am saying.

The good news for everyone is volume is up 42% in the last two months since we announced the trip-tracking process for FREE vacations.  Also, the Mental Fitness Challenge has been a huge success as our flagship product.  Testimonials continue to pour in on the changes people are experiencing from implementing the 13 Resolutions into their lives. In addition, the pattern is solidifying with MFC playing a part in the contacting, several MFC videos to explain the concept, then showing our standard plan. For a sign up cost of $130 dollars, people can “hold their spot” and start enjoying the benefits of team approach and power-player tracking on their way to trip tracking by the end of their second month.

I love systems and the Team business system married to the LIFE/MFC personal development system promises to launch the community onward to one million people. With the pattern/system set, now the scoreboard becomes essential. Keeping score is what separates those make things happen from those who wonder what happened. 🙂 Anyway, the scoreboard is all wrapped around power-player which is the same as ever:

1. How many customers did you acquire?
2. How many levels in depth did you go?
3. How many systems counts did you increase?
4. What is your subscription count for opens and seminars?
5. What is you end of month volume per leg?

It’s as simple as that. Increase your depth and your numbers will increase. Increase your numbers and your volume will increase, both customers and members. Increase your volume and you will be qualifying for free trips and One-Time-Cash-Awards. In other words, build communities, serve communities, and everyone wins!

Why I LOVE Team

I love the Team for many reasons, but the month of May was a huge confirmation in many ways. The LIFE Business had its best volume month since the LIFE launch, despite rolling out three huge initiatives that each required massive learning curves for the Team communities. I am impressed because the Team community made it look so easy. However, I know it wasn’t easy because what is easily done is seldom excellently done and what the Team accomplished was excellently done. It only looked easy because a great deal of leadership experience and emotional intelligence was applied by so many leaders within the community.

As the leader of the Team community and LIFE Business, I can promise everyone that the leaders will not take the easy path, but will, to the best of our abilities, take the proper path needed to grow! Changing open meetings to personal development seminars and challenge groups, along with rolling out the Mental Fitness Challenge are each, by themselves, enough change to discombobulate the best of organizations; instead, the Team responded as only leaders do, growing their numbers and volume in the midst of three major programs!  All I can say is WOW! The LIFE Business through the Team community is now prepared to march onward to one million plus people because we have transformed ourselves from a networking company into a personal development/leadership company with compensated communities, practically overnight.

People who seize change grow into winners, while people who resists change shrink into whiners. I have seen both responses in business, but I am thankful only the winners and people wanting to grow into winners stay with the Team. Consequently, the Team seized these changes and displayed by their actions, rather than words, that they are champions on their way to one million people. I, and the rest of the PC, congratulate you on a first-class example of how communities should thrive through change!
