About Me

Orrin Woodward co-authored the NY Times bestseller Launching a Leadership Revolution. His first solo book RESOLVED: 13 Resolutions for LIFE made the Top 100 All-Time Best Leadership Books List. In 2011 Orrin was awarded the  (IAB) Leader of the Year.

Orrin has co-founded two multi-million dollar leadership companies and serves as the Chairman of the Board of the LIFE Business. Since everything rises and falls on leadership, I will discuss leadership concepts throughout the blog. In my opinion, the ability to learn and apply proper principles at the right time is essential for success in life and business. Ideas have consequences and the goal of this blog is to discuss ideas of consequence. Some ideas you may agree with and some you may disagree.

The rules of this blog are simple. Discuss in a civil manner and maintain emotional intelligence even if someone disagrees with you. Anonymous Amway drones, remnants from our resolved legal dispute over freedoms, and other nameless critics will be caught in spam queue as they are not even worth reading. Indeed, people who attack others only prove they have reached the limit of their logic. However, legitimate discussion is always welcome as the Bible states, “Iron sharpens iron” and the goal is to sharpen one another by discussing what we have thought, written, and read.

The more we can learn, follow, and share truth in every area of our lives, the more we can give back to others. I encourage you to join our leadership discussion and help change the world one person at a time. Like the Bible states, “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”  Sincerely, Orrin Woodward

  1. I love your blog Orrin. I listened to your CD regarding the Ant and the Elephant and I loved that, too. It is so close to my approach in working with leaders the past two decades. I have some products related to the Ant and the Elephant in which you may be interested. Please contact me to discuss this opportunity.

    Hey Orrin,
This is Dan Castro, author of CRITICAL CHOICES THAT CHANGE LIVES.
I’m half-way through with my second book called HIDDEN SOLUTIONS ALL AROUND US: WHY SOME PEOPLE CAN SEE THEM AND SOME CAN’T

I’m doing research to determine why it is that some people can see solutions and opportunities that are invisible to others.
I’d love to interview you, as I think you’d be a great addition to my book.

I’ve already interviewed such entrepreneurial legends as:
Herb Keller – founder of SW Airlines
Red McCombs – former owner of the Minnesota Vikings and the San Antonio Spurs
Roy Spence – founder of GSD&M (one of Bill Clinton’s best friends)
Gary Hoover – founder of Book Stop, which eventually became Barnes & Noble.

I’ve also done five years of research into the lives of great innovators and entrepreneurs who lived over the last several thousand years.
I don’t know how to contact you. So I’m leaving you this post.
    Anyway, please email me

Looking forward to talking to you again.

    Take care,
    Dan

    Orrin,
I just wanted to let you know that during the course of the past 2 months, your leadership/personal development information has drastically changed my life…and obviously for the better. I’ve always had this feeling that whatever I did it just wasn’t what I was supposed to be doing with my life. Now, after digging into the information (LIFE subscription, LLR subscription, and the MFC), I finally have “detected” my purpose in life. So much of why I felt like I did makes sense to me now. Since reprogramming myself with success thinking principles, I am a changed man. I have proposed to my girlfriend of 3 years, and…finally KNOW why I loved just positively affecting the lives of kids. I THOUGHT I wanted to be a history teacher, but after facing “the walls of the system,” I have realized that there is little true HOPE in public education. Unfortunately, it too has been affected with the complacency virus and through a system of standardization has DISabled our students to THINK for themselves anymore. It’s all about WHAT they need to know, not HOW. I believe, just as you and Oliver DeMille do, that this is just wrong. If I truly want to affect lives for the better, there is no better place to begin than with you and LIFE! And I mean this with all my heart! Thank you for showing me that there is hope of a better tomorrow for my son and there is hope in this all-too negative culture of ours. Even thought I faced GREAT opposition from my family when my girlfriend (now fiance) and I decided to become members of LIFE, I just knew I had to change my thinking if I was going to change my life for the better. Your books like Resolved, Rascal, and Launching a Leadership Revolution have affected me enough that I now live my life with this manifesto running through my mind daily:

    My Mission Statement/Manifesto
I, Jeff Taff, take it upon myself to help restore America’s founding principles through the re-education of “truth and success,” house by house, family by family, student by student…in order to fulfill my destiny. Combining my mind, heart, and will, I am changing this world for the better. I understand that my integrity and character will be challenged along my journey, but my courage to address wrongs in the face of fear shall always prevail. I vow to remain positive in my attitude toward my quest for truth. No excuse shall be made as failure is simply not an option. I expect, and will accomplish this goal, leading to a “Refor-vival-sance” in America, and leaving this world a better place than when I entered. This is my purpose, my mission in life, and it will be…my lasting legacy!

Again, thanks for everything man! It is truly appreciated and much needed in our society. You are truly the LEADER of all leaders in my book!
    -Jeff

Where Has Our LOVE of Learning Gone?

As I’ve read many of the LIFE Leaders’ blogs during the course of the past couple hours, I’ve come to the realization that our natural love of learning has been sucked right out of us…and we didn’t even know it happened! Do you remember yourself at a young age? Do you remember how fun school used to be when you were in your early elementary years? I bet you displayed a hunger for new knowledge and actually had a joy of learning back then. But where did it go? Who stole that precious gift from you? Where has your passion and purpose gone? Somewhere in the process of then…and now, our zest for learning has been zapped like a June-bug flying into a bug zapper while you’re out camping in the back woods. What ever happened to the plan of working hard, getting good grades, going to college, and getting a good job with benefits? Just like the untimely death of the June-bug, it is DEAD!

In our current state of society, similar to the poor June-bug who flew into the light of death, there too is a deceitful light of death at the end of the tunnel. Things do not look pretty for our country’s future and SOMETHING needs to be done fast to fix this problem before it’s too late! Why doesn’t anyone change the “wrong” and reinstall the “right” back into our world? As Orrin Woodward says, “This is the LIFE business goal, to bring passion and purpose back into people’s lives. By creating a leadership community, the goal is to reach people where they are at, teaching them principles, that if applied, would change their lives forever. We are on a mission to find the hungry masses, helping them to discover their God-given potential, passion, and purpose. LIFE is a plan to reach the people with truth in the 8F’s, knowing that a remnant exist in the living rooms of the world; a remnant who are sick and tired of being sick and tired. This is the exact spot that my wife Laurie and I were in. We were sick and tired of being sick and tired. We wanted changes and were willing to change ourselves if needed in order to accomplish it. In today’s battered economic conditions, people need real hope for the future like never before in America’s history. Real hope begins with changes on the inside before things can change on the outside.” Hmmm…it’s time we began to change ourselves before we begin to demand it of others!
    -Jeff Taff

  6. Orrin, you may be interested in the Urban School of San Francisco, for many reasons, among them, that in accordance with one of their mission objectives, they inspire (I believe they use the phrase ignite) students with a passion for learning and thinking on their own.
